Career Advancement Award (RPB)

About this program

Research to Prevent Blindness (RPB) offers the Career Advancement Award, a one‑time $150,000 grant paid over two years to support outstanding early‑career vision scientists in collecting new data to secure a second NIH R01. Eligible applicants are U.S.-based Assistant or Associate Professors (MD, PhD, or MD/PhD) in any department who already hold a first NIH R01 with at least one year remaining at the application deadline; a candidate may be an MPI on their first R01 but is ineligible if they are MPI on an additional R01. Applicants must be nominated by their Ophthalmology Department Chair and applications without a prior nomination form will not be accepted; published deadlines (no year indicated) list Nomination Due June 15 and Application Due July 1.
