Carers Support Grants (BMSS Carers Support Fund) to assist attendance at mass spectrometry meetings

About this program

The British Mass Spectrometry Society (BMSS) EDI Sub‑Committee offers the Carers Support Fund to provide typically up to £150 per application to help BMSS members with caring responsibilities attend mass spectrometry meetings, conferences or workshops (online or in person), covering care-related costs such as home help, nursing/respite care, travel/subsistence for a companion, or extended care hours. Applications are accepted year‑round on a first‑come, first‑served basis until funds are exhausted; retrospective applications are not accepted and reimbursement is made by BACS only after submission of receipts, a travel report and a completed expense claim within one calendar month of the event. Applicants must have been BMSS members for at least three calendar months at the time of planned travel, demonstrate that the requested care is normally provided by them, and are limited to one application/award per calendar year (BMSS may further limit awards to individuals or organisations). Applicants requiring more than the normal maximum can discuss increased support with the EDI Sub‑Committee Chair.
