Carol Gay Award

About this program

The Children’s Literature Association (ChLA) offers the Carol Gay Award annually to recognize an outstanding undergraduate paper that makes a significant contribution to the field of children’s literature. The award honors ChLA founding member Carol Gay and is considered annually as warranted. Undergraduate students are eligible through faculty nomination, and the nominating faculty member must be a current ChLA member. Submissions must be original, 2,500–4,000 words, research-based, and formatted in MLA style; nominations are accepted electronically from December 15 through February 1, with a limit of two submissions per faculty member.
