CERF Legacy Fund Scholarships for Students and Early Professionals (2025)

About this program

The Coastal and Estuarine Research Federation (CERF) offers the Legacy Fund Scholarship to support a student or early-career member’s discrete research or career-development activity that advances understanding and stewardship of coastal and estuarine ecosystems. CERF anticipates awarding one US$1,000 scholarship in 2025 to fund activities such as travel to field sites, tuition or travel to training/workshops, or expendable research supplies (not intended for society meeting attendance). Applicants must be CERF student or early professional members in good standing (students enrolled at accredited institutions; early professionals within five years of their most recent degree); previous recipients are ineligible. Applications require a one-page proposal, one-page budget and justification, a one-page CV, two references (one an advisor for students), and an institutional authorization letter; awards may be paid to the individual or to the institution (no indirect costs allowed).
