Chairman’s Fellowships for Numismatic Research

About this program

Established in 2023, the American Numismatic Society's Chairman’s Fellowship for Numismatic Research awards a limited number of $1,500–$2,500 grants annually to graduate students and scholars conducting numismatic research expected to result in academic publication. Applications must include a CV, a proposal (maximum 2,500 words) describing the research, timeline, dissemination plans (e.g., journal article or book), and a budget explaining how funds will be used (research travel, image fees, etc.), and are accepted on a rolling basis at ans@numismatics.org. Applicants must have been ANS members or Fellows in good standing for at least two consecutive years, and recipients are asked to present their work to the ANS membership via a Zoom lecture.
