Chalmers Medal (RSTMH)

About this program

The Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (RSTMH) awards the annual Chalmers Medal to researchers in tropical medicine or global/international health who have demonstrated notable mentoring and capacity building for junior investigators. Nominations are open worldwide for candidates who typically obtained their last relevant qualification 15–20 years ago, with allowances for career breaks, and must document evidence of mentoring and professional development. Both nominations and nominees must be RSTMH members or Fellows (self-nominations allowed only with a supporting statement from an RSTMH member or Fellow), and the awardee receives a silver-gilt medal bearing Dr Albert John Chalmers' likeness; no monetary prize is specified.
