Charles C. Kolb Award for Archaeological Ceramics

About this program

The Society for Archaeological Sciences offers the annual Charles C. Kolb Award for the best published, science-based archaeological ceramics paper, recognizing interdisciplinary excellence; the winning authors receive a USD $500 prize for the corresponding author and one-year SAS memberships for all authors. Eligible papers must be peer-reviewed, written in English, and published in a journal or edited volume during 2025, with early-career researchers particularly encouraged to apply. Authors, corresponding authors, SAS members, or editors may submit nominations with author approval, including the nomination form, final paper, and any required peer-review acceptance documentation, by January 31, 2026.
