CHCI Postgraduate Fellowship Program

About this program

The Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI) offers a paid, nine-month Postgraduate Fellowship for emerging Latino leaders and individuals committed to the Latino community to connect graduate study with public policy through legislative work, leadership development, and Capitol Hill engagement. Fellows receive a $40,950 gross stipend, benefits, transportation and Metro support, and placements in policy areas including health, education, technology, child welfare, housing, and law. Applicants must have completed a master’s degree or JD within two years of the August 18, 2027, start date; doctoral students and concurrent enrollees in academic programs are ineligible. Candidates should demonstrate strong academic achievement, leadership potential, public-service commitment, analytical and communication skills, and U.S. citizenship, permanent residency, qualifying asylum, or unrestricted U.S. work authorization; applications are due December 1, 2026.
