ChemLuminary Awards (Younger Chemists Committee awards for Local Sections/Divisions)

About this program

The American Chemical Society Younger Chemists Committee annually confers three ChemLuminary Awards recognizing excellence in Local Section and Division activities serving younger chemists—Outstanding Local Section Younger Chemists Committee, Outstanding New Local Section Younger Chemists Committee, and Outstanding or Creative Local Section Younger Chemists Committee Event—with recognition only and no specified monetary prize. Eligible applicants are Local Section Younger Chemists Committees and ACS Divisions (local sections and divisions may self-nominate); the Outstanding New award is limited to LSYCCs established within the past two years or revived after at least three years of dormancy. Nominations are submitted via the Local Section or Division Annual Report by the annual February 15 deadline and must include a self-contained LSYCC Event Report Form providing metrics and descriptions such as membership counts, participant numbers, event descriptions, organizational structure, publicity, funding/co-sponsorships, and participant feedback for judging.
