Child & Family Well-Being Grant (The Duke Endowment)

About this program

The Duke Endowment’s Child & Family Well‑Being program provides grants—via a twice‑yearly pre‑application process (deadlines June 15 and December 15)—to support implementation of evidence‑based or evidence‑informed programs, advance innovation where proven models are lacking, and fund advocacy to improve child welfare systems that prevent or treat child abuse and neglect. The pre‑application portal opens roughly six weeks before each deadline, pre‑applications are accepted only during those windows, and applicants will be notified within 30 days whether they are invited to submit a full application. Eligible applicants are accredited nonprofit organizations operating in North Carolina or South Carolina that serve children, youth and families at risk of or experiencing maltreatment; exclusions and requirements include no grants to public schools, no startup group homes, residential facilities must be located in the Carolinas, certain services require accreditation by the Council on Accreditation or the Joint Commission, and applicants should have two years of audited financial statements (or contact program staff before applying).
