ChLA Mentoring Award

About this program

The Children’s Literature Association (ChLA) Mentoring Award recognizes sustained excellence in mentoring that advances others’ scholarship and professional careers in children’s literature, including through committee service, editing, teaching and career discussions, or informal support. Nominations are submitted from December 15 through February 1 by a nominator who assembles the packet and solicits supporting materials. Each nomination must include a cover sheet and three to five letters, with all letter writers being current ChLA members and at least two having no prior student or departmental-colleague relationship with the nominee; packets may not exceed 10 pages, excluding the cover sheet.
