Claudia Alexander Award for Advancing Inclusive Excellence in STEM

About this program

The American Geophysical Union (AGU) offers the Claudia Alexander Award for Advancing Inclusive Excellence in STEM to recognize an individual or team that has developed programs, systems, or networks producing measurable, sustained advances in diversity, equity, and inclusion within the Earth and space sciences; the award includes a $10,000 prize, an engraved award, recognition at AGU’s annual meeting, meeting registration, two hotel nights, and Honors Reception tickets. Nominees may be at any career stage and must demonstrate documented impact via mentoring, advocacy, or program development; teams may include non-AGU members. Nominators and co-nominators must be active AGU members, and self-nomination is allowed. Submissions are accepted 5 January–2 March; all parties must adhere to AGU ethics, conflict of interest, and professional conduct policies (honors@agu.org for inquiries).
