Climbing Grief Fund (Climbing Grief Grant)

About this program

American Alpine Club’s Climbing Grief Fund provides Climbing Grief Grants of up to $600 per individual to support therapy or professional programs that use a grief or trauma framework for climbers and mountain recreationists. Applications may be submitted any time via the AAC Submittable portal, are confidential, and applicants are notified of approval within two weeks. Eligible applicants include climbers, survivors, witnesses, family members, caregivers, and other members of the climbing community experiencing grief, loss, trauma, or injury; funds may be applied to providers listed in the program’s Mental Health Directory or to other qualified professionals. Grants are supported in part by the Edwards‑Ginsburg Fund.
