Clinical Recognition Award — Honoring Excellence in Culturally Congruent Clinical Practice

About this program

The Transcultural Nursing Society’s Clinical Recognition Award honors a TCNS member who demonstrates exemplary culturally congruent clinical practice that meaningfully improves patient outcomes through bedside care, community practice, or clinical consultation and who actively promotes culturally responsive care. Applications are reviewed by an independent committee; decisions are final, applicants will be notified by the end of July, and the awardee is recognized at the Annual Conference Gala Dinner. Applicants must have at least one year of current TCNS membership, and nominations may be submitted by the nominee or others; all materials must be received by June 15 each year. Required materials include a 1–2 page double-spaced statement describing two examples of culturally congruent care (including any frameworks/models used) with reflective analysis, two letters of support from colleagues in the nominee’s current clinical setting, and up to two additional pages of supporting documentation.
