Clinical Research Award

About this program

The American Contact Dermatitis Society offers the Clinical Research Award to support clinical studies on contact dermatitis, providing individual awards up to $5,000 (typical $3,000–$5,000) and a James R. Nethercott award of up to $5,000 for young investigators in occupational dermatology or epidemiology. Eligible applicants are medical students, residents, fellows, dermatologists, and early-career investigators (within five years of practice) based in North, Central, or South America; either the applicant or sponsor must be an ACDS member. Applications must include a project proposal with specific aims, a brief CV/biographical sketch with bibliography, and required institutional human- or animal‑research approvals; funds cannot cover indirect institutional costs or PI salary and must be spent within 18 months. Completed applications and supporting materials are due by 11:59 pm CST on April 15 or October 15 each year (April submissions funded the following September; October submissions funded the following April); projects within the NIH intramural program or awarded to private foundations without academic dermatology affiliation are ineligible.
