Clinical Trial Planning Grant

About this program

Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America (POSNA) offers a Clinical Trial Planning Grant awarding up to $30,000 (one award/year; project duration 1–2 years) to support planning activities that develop high-quality single- or multicenter clinical trials, including spine-related topics. Appropriate uses include teleconferencing/meetings to finalise protocol and study design, methodological/statistical consultation, and validation of outcome measures, with the expectation the planning will yield a competitive multicenter proposal for larger funders; funds are not for institutional indirect costs, personal computers/equipment, or stipends/fees for students or post‑doctoral fellows. Eligibility requires the PI or co‑PI to be a POSNA Candidate or Active member in good standing; non‑orthopaedic MDs, PhDs, or DVMs are eligible only if affiliated with an orthopaedic department and partnered with an orthopaedic surgeon/POSNA member as Co‑PI. Current holders of other POSNA grants (except microgrants) are generally ineligible until their award is complete and final reports accepted; applicants may also apply for certain named awards if required materials are submitted.
