Common Good Cyber Fund (CGCF) Grant Program

About this program

Managed by the Internet Society Foundation and supported by pooled donors (including Australian DFAT, Craig Newmark Philanthropies, UK FCDO, Global Affairs Canada and the Netherlands MFA), the Common Good Cyber Fund awards multi-year operating grants to nonprofit organizations delivering public-interest cybersecurity infrastructure and services that protect high‑risk digital actors and strengthen ecosystem resilience. An open call launches in June 2026 with at least a six-week application window; the Foundation expects to award at least USD $3.5 million in 2026. Eligible applicants are qualifying nonprofits (U.S. 501(c)(3) or equivalent) that provide cybersecurity infrastructure or direct services for NGOs, journalists, human rights defenders and similar high‑risk communities; selection prioritizes credible governance and implementation capacity, ecosystem‑building potential, and organizations based in the global majority or able to regrant.
