Community and Academic Allergists Partnership in Education and Research (CA2PER)

About this program

The American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology (ACAAI) CA2PER program funds practice‑based translational research that pairs academic and community allergists, providing $100,000 grants to projects that address clinically relevant questions to improve allergy and immunology care (program funding allocated 2025–2027). Successful projects must demonstrate true academic–community partnership with equal collaboration, shared/rotating responsibilities, co‑presentation and co‑publication, adherence to Good Clinical Practice, and regular communication. Principal Investigators must be ACAAI members in good standing residing/working in the US or Canada; fellows‑in‑training may participate but cannot serve as PIs. Teams must include at least one academic PI with a faculty appointment dedicating ≥80% time to academic activities and one private/community PI dedicating ≥80% to clinical practice, with both PIs committing at least 10% effort and providing NIH‑style biosketches and an administrative contact.
