Community Grants (SSA) — Meeting/Event Support

About this program

The Seismological Society of America (SSA) offers Community Grants to support meetings and events that advance earthquake science and outreach; applications are submitted via an online form (2,000 character limit per field) or as a PDF emailed to ssagrants@seismosoc.org if limits are exceeded. At least one meeting organizer must be an SSA member in good standing for at least one year, and applicants must provide organizer names/emails, event title, location, date, and contact information. Applications must include a two‑paragraph event summary, target audience and expected attendance, outreach and inclusion plans, tentative schedule, leadership team with credentials and responsibilities, planning and logistical details, and a statement of how the meeting is unique and will contribute to the global seismological community. A detailed budget showing specific intended use of SSA funds, other funding sources, and the impact if SSA funding is partially or not awarded are also required.
