Community Placemaking Grants

About this program

Projects for Public Spaces, in partnership with General Motors, offers three $100,000 Community Placemaking Grants to U.S. nonprofits or public agencies, along with technical assistance and capacity building. Funding supports transforming publicly accessible streets or mobility hubs into safer, more inclusive community gathering places through the Streets as Places or Destination Stations initiatives.

Eligible applicants must be U.S.-based 501(c)(3) nonprofits or local government agencies with authority or permission to improve an outdoor site that is free and open to the public. Sites must serve people from across the city, town, or region and be located in Georgia, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, New York, Ohio, Tennessee, or Texas; applications are due October 13, 2025.
