Conference and Travel Awards

About this program

The British Society for Genetic Medicine offers travel awards to support members’ costs for conferences and meetings, prioritizing presenters of accepted abstracts, those returning to practice after >6 months, early career applicants (under 3 years post-graduation and not in sponsored training with conference funding), and applicants facing financial hardship; awards may also cover attendance when representing the specialty or BSGM. Maximum awards are £350 for UK/European travel and £500 for intercontinental travel, with a proportion of awards allocated annually to affiliate members. Eligible applicants must be active BSGM members for more than one year and must not have received a full £500 award or two smaller awards totalling £500 within the preceding three years. Applications are submitted via the online MS form through the membership account at least two calendar months before the event; awards are considered monthly and applicants should receive a decision within six weeks.
