The Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI) offers paid Summer and Fall Congressional Internship Program placements in Washington, D.C., providing congressional office experience plus a stipend ($4,776 Summer; $5,400 Fall), furnished housing, domestic round‑trip travel, medical insurance, a $100/month Metro stipend, weekly leadership training, and networking opportunities. Summer 2027 runs May 19–July 30 and Fall 2027 runs August 18–November 12; interns work a minimum of 32 hours/week, attend an 8‑day orientation and weekly leadership sessions, and must meet application deadlines of December 1, 2026 (Summer) and March 1, 2027 (Fall). Eligible applicants are full‑time undergraduate students or recent graduates (graduated in the term immediately prior), U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, asylees, or otherwise lawfully authorized to work (DACA eligible with valid work authorization; F‑1/M‑1 not eligible), with preference for strong academic performance (recommended GPA 3.0+), demonstrated leadership and commitment to public service. Applications require a resume, unofficial transcript, one professional recommendation, three 300–600 word essays, and finalists complete an asynchronous prerecorded interview and provide proof of enrollment.
