Cottrell STAR Award 2027

About this program

The Research Corporation for Science Advancement (RCSA) offers the $5,000 Cottrell STAR Award to recognize outstanding research and educational accomplishments among Cottrell Scholars and Holland Awardees, with recipients also invited to deliver a plenary talk at the Cottrell Scholar Conference. Nominees must hold a faculty or researcher appointment in the United States or Canada, be tenured teacher-scholars in chemistry, physics, astronomy, or a related physical-science discipline, and demonstrate broad impact and leadership in research and education. For 2027, Cottrell Scholars must have received their award in 2015 or earlier; Holland Awardees are eligible regardless of award year, but prior STAR or TREE recipients may not apply. Nominations are due November 18, 2026, followed by invited applications due January 21, 2027.
