About this program
The Society of American Archivists (SAA) Council Exemplary Service Award, established in 1980, recognizes exceptional contributions to the archives profession and to SAA; the honor is presented on an occasional basis and carries a plaque. It is intended for work not otherwise eligible for SAA’s other awards and has been conferred on individuals, committees, sections, and external organizations that have made special contributions. Recipients are selected by the SAA Council, either at its discretion or upon recommendation from the Awards Committee; there is no submission deadline or formal nomination form.
