Craft Research Fund Grant

About this program

The Center for Craft, with additional support from the Windgate Foundation, awards Craft Research Fund grants up to $15,000 to support new and interdisciplinary research on craft in the United States. Eligible applicants are scholars, artists, and curators; projects and final reports must be completed within 18 months (current-cycle deadline 2027-09-30). Payments are 70% upon return of a signed grant agreement and W-9 and 30% upon submission of a final report and two copies of any resulting publication; the final report must include 3–5 images, attendance/audience engagement data, a project/exhibition narrative, research outcomes, and a budget report. Awardee project descriptions will be published on the Center’s website and must acknowledge Center support per provided attribution text; incomplete projects may result in partial or full rescission of funds and ineligibility for future Center for Craft awards.
