About this program
The Craig H. Neilsen Foundation offers the Creating Opportunity & Independence (CO&I) portfolio to support nonprofit organizations that empower individuals with spinal cord injuries (SCI) to lead active, independent, and fulfilling lives. Funding is available for projects in Community Activities, Life Transitions, and Accessibility For All, with awards up to $200,000 for one or two years. Eligible applicants are nonprofit organizations providing direct programs and services to the SCI community. The application process requires a Letter of Intent, followed by invited full grant applications, with awards announced in September 2025.
