CRI Lloyd J. Old STAR Program

About this program

The Cancer Research Institute’s Lloyd J. Old STAR Program provides mid-career cancer immunotherapy researchers with $1.25 million over five years, plus up to 10% in indirect costs, to pursue high-risk, high-reward research with flexible, unrestricted support. Applicants must hold an M.D., Ph.D., or equivalent and a tenure-track position as an assistant professor with at least three years in rank or an associate professor with no more than three years in rank. Candidates must devote at least 80% of their time to research; there are no citizenship restrictions, but applicants must be based at eligible nonprofit institutions. Applications are due January 15, 2027.
