Culture Program (The Joyce Foundation)

About this program

The Joyce Foundation offers the Joyce Awards to support artists of color in the Great Lakes region, fostering collaboration with arts and cultural organizations to create new works. The program, launched in 2004, aims to promote creativity, artistic growth, and equitable communities through funding for production and community engagement. Eligibility is limited to artists of color and arts organizations in the region, with a focus on historically underrepresented groups, including those led by and serving communities of color. The program is currently paused for the 2025 cycle for reflection and evaluation.
