Czaplewski Fellowship Award

About this program

The National Council on Family Relations (NCFR) administers the Mary Jo Czaplewski Fellowship in Administration, providing up to $500 to support mid‑career family scholars pursuing transitions into academic or nonprofit administration; the fellowship is awarded only upon request and no more often than once every other year. Funds may cover course tuition, conference travel, certification fees, research or internship expenses, or study in family policy, and there are no fixed application deadlines. Applicants must hold at least a bachelor’s degree, have three to five years of experience in teaching, community service, or related nonprofit family‑science practice, be current NCFR members, and demonstrate a clear intent to move into nonprofit association management or academic administration. Required materials are a letter of application describing past activities, career goals and intended use of funds; an academic vita or résumé; three letters of recommendation; and a description of the program or expenses to be funded.
