Dale J. Benos Early Career Professional Service Award

About this program

American Physiological Society’s Dale J. Benos Early Career Professional Service Award recognizes an early-career APS member (e.g., postdoctoral fellow, assistant professor, or equivalent) for outstanding contributions to the physiology community and includes a $1,000 honorarium plus reimbursement of the American Physiology Summit early registration fee. The award is contingent on funding, selected by the Trainee Advisory Committee, and is presented at the American Physiology Summit — recipients must attend the Summit to accept. Applicants must have at least two consecutive years of APS membership, be at or below the rank of assistant professor (or equivalent), may not be current TAC members (and recent TAC members are ineligible in the year immediately following their term), and postdoctoral applicants must provide confirmation of available travel funds. Applications are submitted online and must include a curriculum vitae, a one-page statement outlining contributions to the physiology community with supporting evidence, and two letters of recommendation.
