Dan Wolz Clean Water Education Grant

About this program

Michigan Water Environment Association, in partnership with the Michigan Science Teachers Association, offers the Dan Wolz Clean Water Education Grant to support K–12 science teachers implementing clean-water/water-environment projects in their curriculum, providing $1,500 for classroom/project supplies. The award also includes complimentary registration for the MSTA Annual Conference (to accept the award and to attend/present the following year), complimentary registration and one-night hotel for the MWEA Annual Conference the year after the award, and mileage reimbursement to the MWEA conference. Eligible applicants are K–12 MSTA science teachers with a curriculum-integrated clean water project; one teacher is selected (determination in November; award presented at the MSTA Annual Conference). Recipients are required to present at the following-year MSTA (30–40 minutes) and MWEA (15–20 minutes) conferences and to write articles for both organizations’ publications describing project implementation.
