Dan Wolz Clean Water Education Grant

About this program

The Michigan Water Environment Association, in partnership with the Michigan Science Teachers Association, offers the Dan Wolz Clean Water Education Grant to fund K-12 science teachers’ curriculum-based clean water/water environment projects. The single annual award provides $1,500 for classroom and project supplies plus complimentary registration to the MSTA Annual Conference (to accept and later present) and complimentary registration and one-night hotel for the following year’s MWEA Annual Conference with mileage reimbursed. Eligible applicants are K-12 MSTA science teachers with a curriculum-focused water-environment project; the recipient is selected in November, must implement the project the next school year, present at both conferences (30–40 min at MSTA; 15–20 min at MWEA), and write articles for the MSTA newsletter and MWEA magazine.
