Daniel M. Maxwell Dissertation of the Year

About this program

The Association of College Unions International (ACUI) offers the Daniel M. Maxwell Dissertation of the Year Award to recognize outstanding doctoral research advancing knowledge in college unions and student activities. The recipient receives $500, publication consideration in The Bulletin, and recognition at ACUI’s annual conference. Eligible dissertations must be original studies for which a doctoral degree was awarded in the previous year, and applicants must be ACUI members who are currently in or intend to enter the profession. Nominations are due November 20 and must include applicant information, committee-chair confirmation, and an anonymized research summary of no more than 10 double-spaced pages addressing the study’s rationale, methods, findings, relevance, and implications.
