Dayton Foundation Discretionary Grants

About this program

The Dayton Foundation offers discretionary grants to 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations for new projects or special initiatives addressing community needs in the Dayton Region, including social services, arts, health, and environmental efforts. Requests may range from more than $7,500 to $75,000 and generally may not exceed 25% of project costs for projects under $300,000. Eligible applicants primarily serve Montgomery, Miami, Greene, Darke, Preble, and northern Warren counties and must submit a final report if they have previously received a discretionary grant. Applications are due January 5, June 29, or October 2, 2026, by 4:00 p.m. for the respective grant cycles.
