About this program
The Society for the Study of Amphibians and Reptiles offers the Dean E. Metter Memorial Award to support student field research in herpetology, with annual grants ranging from $300 to $1,000 for eligible travel and field equipment expenses. Currently enrolled undergraduate and graduate students at accredited colleges or universities may apply for research conducted anywhere in the world, although Missouri-based projects receive priority. Applicants must be SSAR members, submit a proposal of no more than 1,200 words with a budget, résumé, methods, objectives, and advisor support letter, and apply by December 15; prior recipients of an SSAR GIH award are ineligible.
