Deborah Wong Research & Publication Award

About this program

The Society for Ethnomusicology offers the annual Deborah Wong Research & Publication Award to support research or publication expenses in ethnomusicology for scholars from marginalized groups. One $2,000 award or two $1,000 awards may be provided, based on the project’s significance to the field. Applicants must hold a Ph.D., be SEM members, and identify as part of a marginalized group; preference is given to untenured faculty and early-career non-academic scholars. Applications, due April 1, require a 500-word letter, a 500-word letter of support, and a CV.
