Del Jones Memorial Travel Award

The Society for Applied Anthropology (SfAA) awards the Del Jones Memorial Travel Award to support student attendance at the SfAA Annual Meeting, offering two travel grants of $750 each to students presenting accepted papers. The award encourages minority participation—especially African Americans—while selections also honor Del Jones’s work regardless of applicant minority status. Eligibility requires enrollment as a student during part of the current year and an accepted paper abstract for the Annual Meeting program (poster presentations are ineligible); applicants must submit a short essay (up to 500 words) describing how meeting participation will support professional goals and must register for the meeting to receive funds.
