Democracy Reporting Grant

About this program

The Pulitzer Center’s Democracy Reporting Grant supports enterprise, investigative, data, and accountability journalism examining threats to democratic institutions in the United States, including misinformation, voter suppression, political violence, and election-system politicization. Funding may support reporting, contractors, educational materials, and events, with projects of any scope considered. Freelance and staff journalists, individual newsrooms, and collaborating newsroom groups are eligible; applicants must submit a project description of no more than 250 words, a preliminary budget, and a compelling distribution plan. The Center particularly encourages proposals from journalists and newsrooms reflecting underrepresented communities and perspectives.
