About this program

Denali Foundation funds a four‑week Artist‑in‑Residence at Sagarmatha Next in Namche Bazaar, Nepal, supporting visual artists whose practice engages sustainability, environmental conservation, and upcycled materials; up to two residencies are offered annually (spring and fall) and include a grant to assist with airfare and transport from Kathmandu. Residency logistics involve a flight to Lukla and a porter‑supported trek to Namche, private room accommodation in a shared space, and optional meal/service plans; dates within the seasonal windows are flexible. Applicants should be visual artists whose work aligns with sustainability/upcycling and must apply by emailing info@denalifoundation.org with subject "Artist in Residence," submitting a CV, biography and artist statement explaining fit, website/social media, a 5–10 image portfolio with descriptions, a project proposal (medium/subject/materials/tools), and seasonal availability.
