Diane Weyermann Fellowship

About this program

Points North Institute administers the Diane Weyermann Fellowship, a memorial program (in partnership with the Skoll Foundation and Participant) that supports filmmaking teams producing bold, cinematic feature‑length documentaries that highlight stories of moral and ethical urgency. The 18‑month fellowship provides each selected project with $100,000 in unrestricted funding, tailored mentorship from veteran filmmakers and industry leaders, two creative retreats at CIFF, and ongoing professional development to support film completion and career advancement. Applicants should be filmmaking teams—emerging or mid‑career documentary filmmakers from around the world—working on feature projects that take artistic risks and are at a stage where sustained funding and mentorship will materially advance completion; selection is competitive.
