Diljit Singh Leadership Development Grant

About this program

The International Association of School Librarianship (IASL) offers the Diljit Singh Leadership Development Grant, a US $1,000 reimbursement to help leaders from developing nations attend their first IASL annual conference to build contacts, share needs and strategies, and further school library program development. Applicants should be leaders in developing countries (with priority encouragement for Zone C) and IASL membership is preferred. Applications must include a statement of need and purpose, potential outcomes for the applicant’s country, and two letters of support from senior administrators guaranteeing continued involvement in school library development; recipients must attend the conference to receive the award, cover any expenses beyond the $1,000, and submit a report within six months of the conference. All documentation must be received by February 1 each year; applications may be submitted in print or electronic form and are reviewed by an international panel.
