Disaster Relief Grants - NCVMA

About this program

The North Carolina Veterinary Medical Association (NCVMA) offers Disaster Relief Grants to assist veterinary practices and the broader veterinary community affected by natural disasters through two streams: Member Grants (up to $5,000 to cover insurance deductibles and gaps in coverage) and donor-funded Friends of the NCVMA Grants supporting practice, community, and select animal welfare needs. Member Grants are limited to NCVMA members who own or part‑own an affected hospital or mobile unit, require membership at least three weeks prior to the event, must be applied for within four months of the event, include insurance claim/explanation of payment and policy documentation, and are limited to one grant per practice in any 12‑month period. Friends grants are open to veterinary community members who live or work in FEMA-declared disaster counties and to impacted practices (membership not required) and are funded by donations, including funds collected after Hurricane Helene. Applications are submitted via the NCVMA member portal for Member Grants and via designated Friends grant application pages for community and practice grants; funds are disbursed promptly and awards are made until funds are exhausted.
