Distinguished Award for the International Advancement of Psychotherapy

About this program

The Society for the Advancement of Psychotherapy presents the Distinguished Award for the International Advancement of Psychotherapy to honor individuals who have made sustained, distinguished contributions to advancing psychotherapy on an international level. The award carries a $500 honorarium plus up to $500 reimbursement for qualified expenses to attend the Society’s Awards Ceremony at the APA annual convention (total possible benefit up to $1,000). Eligible nominees must be members of the Society (including non‑APA Affiliate Members) and demonstrate significant, sustained international contributions in practice, research, and/or training that either advance work within the division or reflect substantial international collaboration. Nominations (self‑nominations accepted) require a nomination letter, at least two supporting letters, and a current CV combined into one PDF and emailed to SAP.AwardsCommittee@gmail.com by December 31 annually.
