Distinguished Neurology Educator Award

About this program

The American Neurological Association offers the Distinguished Neurology Educator Award to recognize exceptional teaching of neurology to residents and medical students; the award includes a $1,000 honorarium, complimentary Annual Meeting registration, up to $1,000 travel reimbursement, and a commemorative plaque. Each U.S. and Canadian neurology department is encouraged to nominate one faculty member (tenure or non‑tenure track) annually; self‑nominations are permitted and ANA membership is not required. Complete nominations must include the nominee’s CV with a full bibliography and two letters of support—one from a national neuroscience colleague involved in education outlining teaching accomplishments and one from a former student or trainee—and candidates with publications in medical education, widely adopted educational materials, or demonstrable national reputation (e.g., curriculum innovation, mentoring) receive special consideration.
