Distinguished Pharmaceutical Scientist Award

About this program

The American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) offers the Distinguished Pharmaceutical Scientist Award, a lifetime-achievement honor recognizing individuals whose sustained research and scientific contributions have had a lasting impact on the pharmaceutical sciences. Nominees must be AAPS members for at least three consecutive years, be AAPS members at the time of nomination, and have a minimum of 15 years of documented work in the pharmaceutical sciences; nominations may be submitted by the nominee, peers, or a committee. The nomination package should include a CV, 2–3 letters of recommendation, a brief nominator’s statement, and up to five representative scholarly works, with selection focused on demonstrable scientific impact (publications, patents, drug development, regulatory contributions, presentations, and honors). One award is presented annually at PharmSci 360 with a plaque, limited travel and registration support, and recipients are expected to attend the meeting, accept the honor in person, and be available for related outreach and presentations.
