Distinguished Researcher Award 2025

About this program

Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) offers the Distinguished Researcher Award to recognize an ONS member whose research advances the science and practice of oncology nursing; the recipient receives a $2,000 cash prize, a desktop award, and travel reimbursement to present at the annual ONS Congress. Nominees must be active ONS members nominated by an ONS member and hold an earned doctorate in nursing or a related field, with documented sustained substantive research, a record of oncology publications, demonstrable impact on nursing cancer care, and contributions to ONS and the broader cancer community. Nominations require a narrative, two letters of recommendation, and the nominee’s curriculum vitae, and must be submitted via ONS’s external online awards portal (the system locks exactly at 5:00pm ET on September 30; submissions open but incomplete at that time will not be accepted).
