About this program

The Society for Classical Studies presents Distinguished Service Awards to recognize extraordinary service to the classics profession and to the Society. These occasional awards are granted at the discretion of the SCS Board of Directors rather than on an annual schedule. Any SCS member may submit a recommendation; nominations must be made by a Board Director and approved by the full Board.
