Don & JoAnne Corbett Scholarship (KMEA) 2026-27

About this program

Kansas Music Educators Association (KMEA) offers the Don & JoAnne Corbett Scholarship, a one-time $750 award to assist Music Education majors during their semester of student teaching; funds may be used for tuition, travel, living or other student-teaching expenses. The award is presented during the semester of student teaching and the recipient is announced at the C-NAfME Collegiate Luncheon during the KMEA In-Service Workshop. Eligible applicants must be NAfME Collegiate members enrolled at a four-year college or university in Kansas and must be student teaching in the fall or spring semester following the application deadline. Applicants must submit a printed application and an essay (no more than 500 words) describing why they wish to be a music educator, with the application package postmarked or emailed by February 1, 2027; recipients forfeit the award if the required student teaching does not occur.
