Donald Mackay Medal - award for outstanding work in tropical health

About this program

The Donald Mackay Medal, awarded alternately by the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (even years) and the American Society of Tropical Medicine & Hygiene (odd years), recognizes outstanding work in tropical health—especially interventions that improve the health of rural or urban workers in the tropics—and is presented as a silver gilt medal with an associated lectureship (no monetary prize). Nominees should be mid‑career or senior individuals who have made exceptional contributions to tropical health; candidates are preferably medically qualified but professionals from other disciplines are eligible. In RSTMH award years nominations must be submitted by RSTMH members or Fellows and nominees must also be RSTMH members or Fellows (self‑nomination is permitted); nominees may be of any nationality.
