The American Statistical Association offers the $5,000 Dorothy Marie Lamb and Annette Lila Ryne Memorial Scholarship annually to a woman enrolled in or planning to enroll in a mathematics, statistics, or statistics-focused data science program. Funds may support education-related expenses, including tuition, books, and housing. Applicants should have a GPA of at least 3.5 (with possible exceptions), strong written and verbal communication skills, and demonstrated potential to apply analytical thinking in collaborative problem-solving; preference may be given to candidates recommended by Girl’s Inc. of Santa Fe or STEM Santa Fe. Self-nominations and nominations are due March 1 and require a résumé or CV, personal statement, headshot, and, where applicable, a support or nomination letter.
